Evan Samuels intro continued: only worries for this course

By Evan Samuels as an addition to his intro blog post:

The only thing I am worried about in this class is the online nature and communication in this course. How well will our blogs be for communication between peers, the professors, and mentors? Will us students be proactive in looking at the assignments before hand in order to provide enough time to ask questions? If answers need to be found, will each blog be too cluttered to find what information we are looking for? Using social media and blogs in this way is new to me and I am very excited as to how things will turn out.

P.S. I am also taking a CMCL C204 new media course that uses a closed social network for the class to communicate. For anyone who has an interest in new media, I highly suggest to take this course

  2. That is one part of this class that you have to learn to balance. The nice part about online communication is that it allows everyone to chime in, which can be really helpful. If you feel like you're not getting feedback on the blog, though, you can always e-mail us. We check our e-mail a lot!

  3. Evan-- the best place to get questions answered by me or the mentors is to go to the Instructors' blog. There is a note to ask questions for every project.

Also, if you use something like "Google Reader" you'll never lose track of a posted note. It essentially tells you if there are any new notes posted since the last time you checked (and will actually show you the note).
