The site that I chose to look at last week was tumblr, in my opinion the best technique for understanding the users of this site is a use survey. This method would be a quick and easy way to see what people are really using the site for the most and what they want to get out of it. I personally post photos for the most part, but there a lot of different things that you can put on tumblr and a use survey would show what users find to be the most important for them. By asking even just a few questions, a lot of feedback could be gained about what users like and dislike about the website. SurveyMonkey makes it very simple to create a short survey that could really help designers see what aspects of the site are the most important. If you don’t understand your users then ultimately your site will fail and this is an easy way to see what people are really thinking.
